Pulled Turkey Sammie

Tonight I have a lot of left over turkey from the other nite.. I was racking my brain thinking of what I could make that wasn’t turkey pot pie as that was last nite or hot turkey sammies as that is what we had the first nite.. I kind have had a craving for pulled pork as my little bro had mentioned it the other day.. So I thought why not Pulled Turkey..
This is how I did it..
I layered all my leftover turkey in the bottom of my slow cooker. Chooped some onions and green pepper in to chunks.. At this point you could pour over 2 cups of your favorite BBQ sauce or you could take the extra step and make your own sauce.. I only had Chipotle sauce and I thought that it might be to hot for my 1year old (Brielle).. So I made my own sauce.
Here is the recipe:
1c Ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp of prepared mustard
1tsp liquid smoke
3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 water
2 tbsp butter
1tbsp garlic
1 medium onion chopped
~ Melt butter in a medium sauce pan.. Add the onion and garlic and brown.. I mixed the additional ingredients in a small bowl and whisked it together.. Add to the pan.. Bring to a boil then pour over the turkey, onions and green pepper.. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours.
Enjoy on rolls with a side salad or fries.
